EXERCISE 8 A Q. 19
Q.19) If x = 3t2 –1, y = t3 –t, then dy/dx is equal to

Correct

Since x = 3t2 –1,
Diff.w.r.t. t, we get
dx/dt = 6t - 0 = 6t
y = t3 –t,
Diff.w.r.t. t, we get
dy/dt = 3t2 - 1
Now dy/dx = (dy/dt)/(dx/dt)
∴ dy/dx = 3t2 - 1 / 6t.
